Strasburg Pics From March 11, 2007


This quiet station platform is about the become very busy.
Former 36" gauge LO&S motorcar is parked today.
Recently repainted PRR 44-tonner 9331.
SRC 1 is a Climax-powered Plymouth HL.
These two tenders are here for different work. One belongs to RGS 20, which is inside the shop. The other is being replicated for another 36" gauge steam engine.
SRC 2 is a Plymouth.
Restoration to operation may never come to this rare camelback.
The hulk of another locomotive that is supposedly under restoration as time allows.
The Strasburg RR does a great job restoring things. Witness this caboose.
SRC 0-6-0 31 is usually seen during the lighter times of the season, like today. #31 is ready for a day's work after a quick run down the track about a quarter mile.
NW 4-8-0 475 is in the shop for the routine work.

Big #90 is a former GW 2-10-0. She's getting new superheaters.

Strasburg wheel lathe sees work for many railroads including the UP. The drivers behind the lathe belong to UP 3985.
