Surprise! A two-axle scale test car and an N-8B Conrail caboose. These cars were on the rear of 16G 2/14/03. On the front door of the caboose is "R5 Parkesburg." This is a Septa/Amtrak station on the Keystone Corridor. Do you know why this was on the caboose?
Here you can see the Louisville & Nashville private car as it brings up the rear of Amtrak 07T.
A dimentional load is prepared for the Nittany & Bald Eagle. This flat car has four 2-axle trucks.
This coupler is at the bottom of Benny Curve. I assume it remains from the 1950's Red Arrow wreck.
This is the Union Tank Car Company's Plymouth switcher. They use a transfer table and trackmobile to shift cars aroud in their shop in Altoona. I have never seen this unit run.

This little yard is located outside of Mt. Joy, PA on the Keystone Corridor. Two GE centercabs are here for switching.
A couple boxcars near CP-Works in Altoona. The PC yellow boxcar is an X29 that previously resided in the transfer yard. The Conrail boxcar is used for storage.
Near downtown Altoona, this bridge carries the Cove Secondary over a street. "PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD" is still visible in the rust.
Part of the "Brush yard" is empty. I think I can tell why they call it the Brush Yard.
Close up on CSX's usual bell and strobe arrangement.

At the summit of Rt 219, just north of where you pick up Rt 66 to Cass, this railroad bride crosses the road. This is the West Virginia Central railroad about 4 miles beyond Big Cut.
Up at track level there is a section shed and a siding going to the left.

This little truss bridge is finally at its new home. It was formerly located on the other side of Meyersdale over the CSX main; now it spans Scratch Hill Road on the former WM main.
