CR Historical Society Conrail 21165 delivered to the MIDH

I arrived at Middletown early so I took a walk around the yard. Among many many trolley cars, are a couple of rare Alcos. This is T-6 #1016. She is the freight power at this time.

MIDH 151 is out of service for its 90 day inspection.
Finally, after being delayed for almost a week, the caboose appears in downtown Middltetown.
She looks pretty good.
The truck makes the turn onto Brown Street toward the MIDH.
The street running will make a good unloading area.
I'm sure the residents of Middltown won't mind a caboose in the middle of their street.
Finally after an eight-month effort, the 21165 is in Middltown. Not quite on rails at this point.
The 'movers' begin removing chains and will separate the goose neck of the trailer.
Kris is anxious for a ride.
MIDH 1016 is fired up to help with the unloading.
A ramp is pieced together to ease the 21165 onto the rails.
Kris is still anxious.
Russ and Kris use the hand brake to ease the caboose off the trailer with a winch attached at the rear to keep it from getting away.
The caboose apparently got stuck in a kink and did want to go down anymore by itself so 1016 was brought over.
1016 is coupled up to 21165.
Plans are discussed for after the caboose is on the rails.
Kris - still - is anxious.
For the first time in around 20 years, CR 21165 is on active rails. 1016 moved the caboose out of the street and air was put to the car. Amazingly, the caboose is mostly airtight and the brakes work after all this time. There are a couple minor leaks.
Since the caboose was found to be road worthy, at least in the yard, the MIDH decided to take us along for some switching and interchange.
The inside the car is covered in a powdery grime, but it will come of easily and will look great when done.
This gauge works, but is a little out of calibration.
1016 is running around us at Univar.
The 21165 poses at the end of a train, just like it should be.
And we take up the rear through the street running.
We're on our way to the interchange tracks.
From the bay window of CR 21165, Amtrak is in push mode eastbound.
We're right next to the catenary here.
The consist poses next to Amtrak for a photo.
21165 is cristened.
